    The ME-109 was the mainstay of the German Luftwaffe for the duration of WWII. Small, fast and agile, the ME-109 consistently gave allied pilots a serious threat in air-to-air combat. Constantly upgraded through many versions, the ME-109 was surely one of the most highly evolved fighter aircraft period.
